23/03/2016 - Is Labour Learning its Lessons?
Friend, if you're horrified by the Tories' education cuts as well as their latest plan to force all schools to become academies - effectively privatising all state schools and removing them from democratic local authority control - then we hope to see you this Saturday, 26 March, at "Is Labour Learning its Lessons?", starting 6.30pm at Community Base, Queens Road, Brighton BN1 3XG, with refreshments available from 6pm.
Discuss Labour's education policy with teachers from the NUT's annual conference in Brighton this weekend, including NUT Deputy General Secretary Kevin Courtney, who will open our meeting at 6.30pm. Other speakers include Phil Clarke - NUT Executive for East Sussex, Lloyd Russell-Moyle - Chair, Brighton & Hove Labour, Talullah Gunputh - local student, and a representative of teaching assistants. For further details see our Facebook page.
This is the first in a series of joint Sussex LRC - Momentum Brighton & Hove fringe events at labour movement conferences being held in Brighton between now and July.
