02/05/2017 – Press Release – Greg Mountain: Labour Candidate for Mid Sussex
Mid Sussex Labour Party is pleased to announce that Greg Mountain is their candidate for next month’s General Election.
Pam Haigh, Chair of the Constituency Party said, “We are delighted that Greg is our candidate. We think it is particularly important to have a local candidate who is well known across the constituency for his campaigning efforts. All our branches and members will work hard to support Greg and maximise votes for Labour. Mid Sussex Labour’s experience two years ago is invaluable in shaping our 2017 Campaign”.
This is the second General Election in two years and gives Greg the opportunity to build on his previous 2015 campaign.
Greg said, “I’m thrilled and delighted by my selection. I have the opportunity to run for Parliament a second time, a great honour. I aim to build on the work our thriving local party has done recently. In the last two years we have had a hugely encouraging reaction to our policies across the constituency. I am campaigning to help improve life for everyone in Mid Sussex.”
Greg stressed, “We must face reality that austerity is a failed policy. It is a political, not an economically sensible, decision that is harming people, their jobs and their public services. The Labour team in Mid Sussex is continuing to campaign to help the many, not the privileged few. And I look forward to meeting as many people as possible in the next few weeks”.
He added, “As the campaign period is so short this will be a different type of campaign. I’m looking forward to making some big announcements about Labour in Mid and West Sussex very shortly”.
